Concept art Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Wanted to create my version of one of my favorite characters Willy Wonka. The turtle in his hat is in memory of my Red-eared slider (semiaquatic turtle) which passed away while I was doing this project.

Turtle was the world's first submersible vessel with a documented record of use in combat. It was built in 1775 by American David Bushnell as a means of attaching explosive charges to ships in a harbor, for use against Royal Navy vessels occupying American harbors during the American Revolutionary War.

The moment I saw the name and the year of creation I knew that that will be the perfect transportation for my Willy Wonka and his turtle best friend.

This was my first 2D environment, it was important to focus on depth and lighting that's why I decided to avoid colors.
