III Year's Virtual Production Project.

Brief :

A teenager is waiting for the train in an empty underground station. On the other side of the rails a mysterious character walks in. They’ll start a conversation which will drag them into a fantastic dimension.

We were divided into groups of 3, each responsible for the creation of four subway stations, following a specific theme.

  1. Base station: a night, empty, urban, underground environment

  2. Degeneration of connectivity: a dystopian future in which media overexposure, control, and connectivity have taken over

  3. Hyper nature: a green future where technology coexists in a harmonious a way with nature

  4. Final destination: the oneiric train that leads to the afterlife

I was specifically involved in the creation of the Hyper Nature station

In the beginning we had concept art workshops to develop the set, prop and train designs. This were my suggestions for the Base Station, the Hyper-Nature and the Final destination:

My group choose this concept art for our stations:

Work in progress

Modeling

To create the models and the UV maps I used Autodesk Maya

Then I imported the fbx files to Unreal Engine

I wanted to achieve a hyper realistic look. That's why I decided to use scanned plants and some realistic textures from Quixel Bridge.

Lightning

In the beginning I thought that warm color palette and lights would look better but I realized I would loose the futuristic look.
